Two new faces join CBBC's The Dumping Ground, the sequel to the multi-award-winning CBBC dramas The Story Of Tracy Beaker and Tracy Beaker Returns, as it returns for a second series this January.

16 year old Kasey McKellar (represented by D&B Management) plays newcomer Bailey. Kasey recently appeared in Top Boy 2 playing R'Marni. And Stacy Liu joins the cast as new carer May Li.

The new series will consist of 13 new 30-minute episodes plus 10 exclusive three-minute webisodes which will run parallel to the stories broadcast on the channel.

The webisodes will feature an exclusive storyline which will run online for 10 weeks, culminating in a cliff-hanger which will be resolved in the last episode of the TV broadcast as both the online and TV stories merge for the series finale.

The new series follows more of the dilemmas, dramas, friendships and challenges faced by young people in care, and stars Connor Byrne (Mike), Jessie Williams (Lily), Amy-Leigh Hickman (Carmen), Christopher John-Slater (Frank), Daniel Pearson (Rick), Joe Maw (Johnny), Mia McKenna-Bruce (Tee), Philip Graham Scott (Harry), Miles Butler-Hughton (Tyler), Kia Pegg (Jody), Leanne Dunstan (Faith), Reece Buttery (Mo), Sarah Rayson (Floss) and Richard Wisker (Liam)

Lis Steele, executive producer of The Dumping Ground, says: “We’re really pleased to be able to bring the series of webisodes to viewers for the very first time and are looking forward to hearing the reaction of the audience to the additional storyline – it’s an exciting one! This series has a real mix of gripping drama alongside the more light-hearted moments that Dumping Ground fans enjoy and we’re hoping CBBC viewers enjoy it both on air and online.”

The series was filmed on location in the North East of England and will air on CBBC in the new year, date to be confirmed.

Fireworks is a charming indie comedy about a teenage girl, Kat, who runs away from home to find her uncle Gillies, who she has secretly discovered is her real dad. But Gillies, played by the fantastic Ewen Bremner, turns out to have bipolar disorder. Without fully understanding this, Kat hatches a plan for them to make a homemade firework, with Gillies' medication as the essential ingredient.

The Fireworks production team are now looking for a talented, bold, headstrong young woman to play the lead role of Kat.

Our bright new star doesn’t need any acting experience, but she does need to be bold, funny and brave. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be a young-looking sixteen year old with a London accent, but we are prepared to be blown away by any fresh new star who can play a 13-14 year old London girl.

If you fit the bill visit Fireworks Film Casting to apply.

The film is scheduled to shoot for four weeks in Edinburgh in March 2014.

The script was co-written by Hannah Robinson and Jonathan Hall, who first worked together on In The Mood, starring Kelly Brook as a tap dancing German spy. Their first draft of Fireworks won the Grand Prize in the American Screenwriters Association International Script Competition, Silver in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards for Drama, and the financial support of the Wellcome Trust. It has drawn comparisons to Little Miss Sunshine and Silver Linings Playbook.

The film is produced by Wendy Griffin, line producer of Red Road, Donkeys, and You Instead, who recently co-produced the indie rom-com Not Another Happy Ending. For further information visit Indiegogo/Fireworks

Shooting for Socrates

Young Irish Game Of Thrones actor Art Parkinson (represented by Actors First) is currently filming in Belfast on Shooting for Socrates, a film about the 1986 World Cup in Mexico when Northern Ireland played Brazil.

He plays Tommy, the son of  football supporter Arthur (played by Richard Dormer)  from East Belfast. The lead up to Tommy’s 10th birthday mirrors the build up to the day the Northern Ireland team play their greatest match against Brazil.

The cast also includes 22 year Nico Mirallegro (represented by Curtis Brown), star of My Mad Fat Diary and The Village, who plays young footballer Davey Campbell, hailed as "the next George Best".

The film is named after Brazilian footballer Sócrates de Souza who played in the 1986 match against Northern Ireland.

November 1985, and the troubled streets of Belfast are torn up by rioting yet again. In amongst the angry mob, we find nine year old Tommy, nonchalantly dribbling a ball through the insanity. Whilst politicians argue over the peace process, there’s only one thing on young Tommy’s football-mad mind – the forthcoming World Cup, where tiny Northern Ireland will take on the mighty Brazil. For the South American giants it’s just another step on the path to inevitable global domination, yet for Northern Ireland, and young Tommy, it’s the biggest game of their lives. They are two countries that couldn’t seem further apart: Northern Ireland and Brazil. On the football field, eccentric Northern Ireland coach Billy Bingham  must plug together a bunch of misfits and third divisioners. Brazil are led by none other than the philosopher-captain (Dr.) Sócrates, who has, in part, inspired the collapse of his country’s ruthless military junta, and they are the hot favourites to scoop up football’s ultimate prize. As bunting replaces bombs on the streets of Belfast, and Catholic and Protestants alike turn their attention to the big match, Tommy’s dockworker turned philosopher father Arthur uses his son’s passion for football to enlighten him on the events that make up his chaotic world. The story interweaves young Tommy’s coming of age tale with the trials and travails of the hapless Northern Irish team over the nine months leading up to their ultimate game, in the stifling heat of Mexico at the world’s greatest festival of football.

The film is directed by James Erskine (‘The Human Face’) and produced by Victoria Gregory (‘Senna’, ‘Man on Wire’). It was written by Erskine and Maria Jones.

The New Black Films production has been filming in locations throughout Belfast for the past two weeks.

Shooting for Socrates is supported by Northern Ireland Screen and is set to be released in May 2014, to coincide with next years’ World Cup in Brazil.

The Thirteenth Tale

Two young British actresses star together as twin sisters in The Thirteenth Tale, a new 90-minute gothic suspense drama from Heyday Films coming to BBC Two this Christmas.

The Thirteenth Tale is a haunting psychological mystery set in the modern day, with poignant flashbacks starting in 1940. The disturbing story begins when a young female biographer, Margaret, played by Olivia Colman, sets out to interview a legendary writer whose health is fading. Vida Winter, played by Vanessa Redgrave, has, until now, refused to divulge the dark secrets of her life and past at Angelfield, her childhood home. An unlikely shared empathy is cultivated between the two women, and Vida’s story forces Margaret to finally confront her own ghosts.

Game of Thrones star, 17 year old Sophie Turner (represented by Independent Talent) plays young Vida. Sophie is currently in the US filming on Barely Lethal. She said of her character in The Thirteenth Tale:
"Vida is very protective of Emeline and of anyone interfering with their relationship. They are each other’s existence; they can’t survive without each other. They were brought up very feral and didn’t really have anyone to teach them the rights and wrongs or social boundaries of life. They are very much involved with each other and have no experience of the outside world so they’re very interesting, intense characters."

20 year old Antonia Clarke (represented by Troika), who played the doomed Lucy in Lightfields,  plays her twin sister Emmeline. The twins are so consumed with one another that ultimately the relationship becomes very destructive. Antonia added:
"I play Emmeline March who is the simpler of the two. She’s very affectionate and the complete polar opposite of Adeline, who has a clouded intelligence and is quite dark, whereas Emmeline’s quite adorable and affectionate."

The younger version of the twins is played by Madeleine Power (represented by United Agents), who played a young Catherine Tate in her Little Cracker for Sky.

Adapted from Diane Setterfield’s best–selling novel, the script has been written by Oscar winning screenwriter Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liaisons) and is directed by James Kent (Inside Men, The White Queen).

The Thirteenth Tale was filmed on location in Yorkshire including at Burton Agnes Hall stately home in Driffield, Yorkshire.

The follow-up to the UK’s most successful comedy film of all time will see the hapless Jay, Neil, Simon & Will reunited in Australia.

The Inbetweeners Movie 2 will start shooting in Australia on 7th December before moving to the UK in January.

Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the creators of the hit E4 sitcom will be directing the new film, and have once again written the script.

They said in a statement:
"So, the news is (drumroll)... filming is about to start and yes, it's set in Australia. We can't say too much as we don't want to spoil the jokes for you, but what we can exclusively reveal is there will be kangaroos. And Australians. And possibly koalas. Oh and obviously Jay, Will, Neil and Simon providing they're let into the country."

They added: "Thanks so much for all your support, we're hoping to deliver a film that you'll enjoy even more than the last one."

The first Inbetweeners Movie was a surprise and runaway smash-hit success. With takings to date nearing £60 million, it is the most successful British comedy film of all time.

The film will be produced by Bwark Productions, with a release date for the UK and Ireland already set for August 2014.

• Do you see issues in your daily life and want them to be represented or explored in television drama? Or do you just want to make us laugh?
• Do you watch television and are dismayed at how people of your age or your background are portrayed? Or maybe you don’t see anyone that looks or sounds like you… Do you want to change that?

The Audition
At the audition we would like you to:
Read ascenewith one of our team (which you can pick up on the day or download beforehand)
AND
We want you to perform a short original piece– something you feel passionately about, in any form you choose – be it spoken word, a song, a monologue or simply a story you want to tell. It’s entirely up to you but remember we’re looking to see what makes you tick, to gauge your personality and what it is you have to say about the world today, so make it count.

This isn’t about looks, but about your unique perspective on the world.
Don’t be nervous and don’t let a lack of confidence or shyness hold you back. Some of the best actors out there are really shy people! Please note the following:
You must be 16 or over and have completed your GCSEs (this is due to licensing reasons for filming and I’m afraid we cannot be flexible on this).
You must be fully available for workshops and filming between 6th to 14th January 2014 in the London area (there will be a fee paid for workshop and filming days for the selected cast, but we don’t have the budget for providing accommodation).
