The highly anticipated brand new ten-part CBBC period drama series Hetty Feather, adapted from the best-selling book by Jacqueline Wilson will start on Monday 11th May on CBBC.
In episode one young Hetty and her foundling brother Gideon must leave their foster family and return to the Foundling Hospital where Matron rules with an iron fist. If that wasn’t bad enough, Hetty also has to content with bully Sheila and her clutch of comrades known as the She Mob. But things look up when Hetty meets up with Mathias and the gang from the boys' wing and they hatch a high risk plan to escape the hospital for good. Can they scale the walls in search of freedom or will Matron and the She Mob catch and punish them?
Hetty Feather starts on Monday 11th May at 5pm on the CBBC Channel.
Set in London in 1887, the series centres around the story of our indomitable heroine Hetty Feather as she is returned to the awe-inspiring institution of the Foundling Hospital, the place where she was deposited as an infant and which she is to now call home.
Joining Hetty, played by Isabel Clifton, in her adventures are Dasharn Anderson as her foundling brother Gideon, and Gus Barry as boy's gang leader Mathias, with Polly Allen as bully Sheila.
13-year-old Isabel Clifton (represented by Sandra Singer Associates) stars as Hetty in her first professional screen role. Isabel trains at Singer Stage School in Essex . Isabel said “Sandra told me the news I had been made an offer to play ‘Hetty’ while I was helping at the stage school’s annual audition day. My best birthday present ever”.
14 year old Dasharn Anderson (represented by Galloways and Jessica Elliott Management) from Lewisham, previously appeared in Truckers playing Ashley Walters' son, and he'll also be seen in the new series of Doctor Who.
14 year Gus Barry (represented by A&J Management) from Essex, played the role of Jem in the award winning production of To Kill a Mockingbird at Regents Park and has an impressive CV with roles in The Escape Artist, Penny Dreadful, and Wolf Hall, as well as feature films Black Sea and Deadly Intent.
TV newcomer Polly Allen (represented by Robert Kelly Associates) from Surrey, stars as Hetty's arch enemy, Sheila Ormsby, Polly has previously appeared on the West End stage as Keeley Gibson and Angela Robson in Billy Elliot, and as Veruca Salt in the original cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
