BORN TO KILL - 4 PART DRAMA FOR WORLD PRODUCTIONS & CHANNEL 4

A psychological thriller about a teenage serial killer called SAM who lives in a suburban town, battling with his violent urges at the same time as falling in love with the new girl at school CHRISSY who may just scupper his twisted plans... or is it too late?

LOOKING FOR 3 YOUNG ACTORS - PLAYING AGE 15 / 16 - MUST BE OVER LICENSING AGE (SO 16 BEFORE 1ST SEPT 2016 AND MUST NOT BE OLDER THAN 21)

THIS IS A ONE OFF DRAMA SO DOES NOT REQUIRE OPTIONS FOR FURTHER SERIES.

Please do not submit yourself if you have been previously seen for this project, but happy to receive another submission if you were not seen before.

ROLES

SAM

LEAD ROLE - on the school diving squad (Jack Laugher/ Chris Mears type) charming and athletic. His utter fearlessness makes him hypnotic to everybody around him. Equally comfortable and confident in the company of fellow teens as with adults, choosing to spend many an evening in the company of ailing OAPs in the hospital his mother works at. He is witty, sharp and has intelligence beyond his years but also mixed with an immaturity and vulnerability that frustrates him at times. 

The arrival of CHRISSY brings an added excitement to his complex life, and a much desired need for as much love and adoration he can muster.

We are looking for an intelligent and confident young actor with great versatility who can capture the complex layers that make up this dangerous young mind.

ACCENT : IDEALLY NEUTRAL BUT KEEPING OPEN AT THIS STAGE


VERY IMPORTANT - MUST BE A STRONG SWIMMER - MANY SCENES WILL BE SHOT IN THE WATER


CHRISSY

LEADING ROLE - she is a whip-smart, mysterious and enigmatic 15 year old who has learnt to navigate the complexities of teenage life using sarcasm, dark wit and occasional aggression. Complex, strong and willful , there is also an insular and defensive side to Chrissy, in particular with her fractious relationship with her father. Arriving with her dad in a new town to stay in her grandmother’s house. Chrissy has to start a new school and go through all the humiliations that brings, but this is where she will meet the enigmatic SAM and a romantic relationship evolves.

ACCENT: ANY


OSCAR

MUST BE OVER LICENSING AGE - 

14/ 15 year old Oscar struggles to make any form of impact in the school hierarchy, an intelligent and warm boy from a comfortable loving family, school chess champion, Xbox supremo, studious.
 His world lights up when SAM takes a liking to him, Sam pulls out all the stops to build Oscar’s confidence, teaching him to swim and dive, making Oscar’s hero worship sky rocket. This blossoming friendship will come at a terrible price when Sam’s murderous fantasies begin to focus on the adoring Oscar.

ACCENT: IDEALLY NEUTRAL MIDDLE CLASS
 - OSCAR MUST FEEL A LITTLE BIT YOUNGER THAN SAM AND CHRISSY



HE HAS NO ATHLETICISM AGE AND NEEDS TO FEEL A LITTLE FRAGILE NEXT TO SAM. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PLOT, SAM CAN OVERPOWER OSCAR EASILY, AS CAN MOST OF THE KIDS AT THE SCHOOL.

IMPORTANT - MUST BE VERY CONFIDENT SWIMMER - MANY SCENES WILL BE SHOT IN THE WATER
