Three young British actors have landed roles in The Maze Runner, Fox’s adaptation of the sci-fi Young Adult novel, the first in a series of books set in a post-apocalyptic world by James Dashner, to be directed by Wes Ball.

Here's the synopsis:

Thomas wakes up in an elevator, remembering nothing but his own name. He emerges into a world of about 60 teen boys who have learned to survive in a completely enclosed environment, subsisting on their own agriculture and supplies from below. A new boy arrives every 30 days. The original group has been in "the glade" for two years, trying to find a way to escape through a maze that surrounds their living space. They have begun to give up hope. Then a comatose girl arrives with a strange note, and their world begins to change...

20 year old Will Poulter will play Gally, a Glader who mistrusts Thomas from the beginning, turning into Tom's first enemy in the Glade. Will (represented in the UK by Hamilton Hodell) made his screen acting debut in Son of Rambow, went on to play Eustace in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader,  last year filmed alongside Jennifer Aniston in We Are The Millers, and recently wrapped on Julian Gilbey's heist thriller Plastic.

22 year old Thomas Brodie-Sangster (represented by Curtis Brown), who is about to be seen playing Jojen Reed in the third series of Game of Thrones, will play Newt, a tall Glader who is leader Alby's second-in-command.

27 year old Aml Ameen (represented in the UK by Independent Talent) will play Alby, the honourable but stern leader of the Gladers. Aml got his big break in Kidulthood and has gone on to feature in many TV and film roles in the UK and US,  including a series regular role as Malcolm Davies in Harry's Law.

No news yet on who will take the lead role of Thomas....
